Damp in structural timbers and walls can point to long term problems, and building up an accurate picture of the extent of a damp problem is crucial to deciding upon the required corrective actions.

Using a hand held meter we are able to assess damp in timber and walls; this is a clean and non-destructive method of assessment and is very accurate in timber. When used to assess walls a number of readings will be taken at chosen points to build up an accurate assessment of the dampness (the meters cannot quantitatively measure the level of dampness in a wall - only measuring the presence or absence of moisture). These readings, together with a survey of the locality outside and within a property, will lead to an accurate evaluation.
