Flooding & Flood Protection Systems

Properties that are in flood risk areas can be subject to ground water pressure where water penetrates up through the floor or gaps and cracks in the wall/floor joint. Flood water can get in over the thresholds or through air bricks and vents.

We can design and fit systems comprising water pumps and channelling, installed in conjunction with a sealed system Cavity Drain Membrane that would normally be specified in basement waterproofing applications. 

The system is designed to direct any water entering from behind the profiled membrane into the channel around the perimeter of the property to sumps fitted into the floor.

Flushing points can be incorporated within the channel to allow maintenance of the system and flushing through with a sanitiser if required after ingress of contaminated water.

The floor slab is lined with a high capacity membrane with flooring over, and membranes fitted to the external and party walls before direct plastering or dry lining. This means no more drying out. Should the property flood again by water getting in at the openings (doors or windows - which are always going to be weak points) then the system is quick and easy to repair and clean, and new plasterboard can be easily re-fitted.

External Flood Barriers

External flood barriers are available as a measure against very high water levels and are fitted when required in front of ground floor windows and doors.
